Teaching innovation
Prof. Edmond Choi has been involved in various teaching innovation projects in the university and within the faculty. Currently, he is working with researchers from Australia and Hong Kong to develop a teaching resource package on sexual and reproductive health and rights that can be adapted to the nursing and social work curriculum in interprofessional and cross-cultural contexts.

He previously worked on a teaching innovation project involving the use of virtual reality to enhance nursing students’ clinical skills in performing high-risk nursing procedures, such as blood transfusion and nasogastric tube insertions for children, before their paediatric clinical practicum.

He also worked with colleagues from the School of Biomedical Science and the School of Public Health to develop a new pedagogy for teaching functional anatomy through experiential learning.
This project aimed to enhance students’ learning in anatomy, a core discipline of many health profession education programmes through group exercise classes. This project was supported by the Teaching Development Grant of the university and has been presented at an education conference.
Life enrichment programme

This programme endeavours to cultivate global citizenship among undergraduate nursing students by fostering international experiential learning opportunities. As part of my responsibilities, I oversee various experiential projects within the program, such as those in Watoto, Uganda, and Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, China. Additionally, I successfully obtained the Gallant Ho Experiential Learning Fund twice to facilitate student participation in these enriching learning activities.
